Elmtree may be a small specialist school however what it lacks in size it gains in support of everyone. Starting with our staff. Staff working at Elmtree Grove benefit from:
- Salaries not being pro rata’d for support staff. A starting salary of £19,000 is just that – no adjustment.
- Access to apprenticeships. From learning support, to Thrive and specific skills like Speech & Language therapy, we have staff completing a range of course to develop themselves and further support our learners.

- Staff welfare package available through BrightHR & Peninsula.
- Elmtree Grove retain Peninsula HR to support all processes from recruitment to during employment.
- Celebrating events, each year our staff have a winter and summer event celebrating staff achievements and efforts across the terms.
- Staff are provided uniform in the form of tshirts and jumpers to provide a sense of belonging to the School community.
- Star of the week! Colleagues nominate each other for someone they believe should be recognised. Winners receive a £5 costa voucher, with all winners going into a draw each term for a hamper or equivalent.
- Each term we have a company breakfast as a thank you.
- All staff receive Team Teach training in addition to statutory training and as a minimum An Introduction to Thrive to support staff having the skills and confidence to support learners struggling to succeed in an appropriate, safe and reasonable manner.
- We use CPOMs including StaffSafe to underpin our approach to safeguarding to ensure we are keeping the whole community safe.
