Headteachers Welcome

Being part of the EGS family #2 | Elmtree Grove

I’m delighted to introduce myself im Tyrone Perry-Harry Executive Headteacher of Elmtree Grove School, part of the Elementa Education Group.

What drew me to Elementa was its inspiring commitment to nurturing inclusive environments, supported by a dedicated team who prioritise the success and well-being of every student.

My journey in education began in 2006 as a Classroom Teacher, and over the years I’ve held a variety of leadership roles including Head of Department, Head of Faculty, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Each role has deepened my understanding of how to create spaces where young people can truly thrive.

Before entering education, I worked in Health and Social Care, driven by a long-standing passion for supporting others. I later specialised in Social Sciences—teaching Psychology, Sociology, and Health—and completed my teacher training at Oxford Brookes University, followed by a Master’s in Education from the University of the West of England.

Prior to joining Elementa, I was Headteacher at a specialist school supporting students with ASC, SEN, and SEMH needs. I also served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire, focusing on Education, Inclusion, and SEND. I’m currently pursuing a PhD exploring inclusion, social justice, and equity in education, and hold a National Professional Qualification in Educational Leadership.

Outside of education, I’m a trained classical musician certified by Trinity College London. I play the Flute, Oboe, Recorder, and Piano, and enjoy singing. I regularly perform with a wind quintet, which keeps me connected to my love of music.

I’m genuinely excited to bring my experience, energy, and commitment to Elmtree Grove School and look forward to working collaboratively with staff, students, and the wider community to foster an environment where everyone can thrive.
